Training & certification

Good equipment works better in trained hands.

Brendan holds IICRC technician certification. Here is how that training helps him assess cleaning and restoration jobs.

What is the IICRC?

The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification develops industry standards and provides training and certification for professionals in cleaning, inspection and restoration. It gives technicians a framework for evaluating materials, choosing methods and documenting work.

01

Technician certification

Certification is earned through training and assessment. Continuing education helps technicians maintain their credentials.

02

Firm certification is a future goal

Technician certification belongs to Brendan personally. Platinum Carpet Care does not currently hold IICRC Certified Firm status; it is a goal for the future.

03

Industry standards

IICRC publishes recognised standards that guide professional cleaning and restoration work.

What this changes for you

Assessment before action.

A wool carpet, synthetic lounge and water-damaged room call for different decisions. Training helps Brendan assess the fibre, the source of soil or moisture, and the right process for the job.

For water losses, moisture readings and follow-up checks help guide drying. For cleaning and odour work, the material and the depth of contamination guide the method and expectations.

Certification supports informed decisions. It does not mean every stain, odour or damaged material can be restored; Brendan will discuss the limits of your particular job.
Why it matters
  • Methods chosen for the material
  • Clear reasons for recommended treatment
  • Moisture checks when drying is needed
  • Realistic advice before work begins
